Program rules

To earn rewards for referrals, you need to use the appropriate refer-a-friend form and sign up by providing your information “Referrer” (valid email address, your name, your phone number) as well as the information of your friend “Referee” (valid email address, their name, phone number, company name). You must also accept the program Terms and Conditions. In some specific cases, a Sekure Payment Experts representative may invite you to join the program and can submit an internal refer-a-friend form on your behalf.

Everyone is eligible to refer a business to Sekure. The Referee must accept the offer, become a new Sekure customer, be active for 30 days and batch a minimum of $300.

Upon confirmation of compliance with these Terms and Conditions and eligibility, a digital Visa® prepaid card* (or an equivalent incentive in monetary value) will be sent to the Referrer and the Referee. The reward will be delivered to the Referrer and Referee by email.

Sekure refer-a-friend reward 

Visa® Prepaid Card 

A unique coupon code will be sent in an email, which should be used to activate the digital Visa® prepaid card. The coupon code indicated in this email is valid for a period of 6 months and is used to activate your Visa® prepaid card. After the card is activated, you will be able to use your Visa® prepaid card. The funds are available for a period of 12 months starting from when we send you the coupon code. Any funds remaining on the card after the 12 months will be forfeited. 

Refer-a-friend rewards

Tier rewards are effective from December 1, 2022. Referrals made prior to this date are not eligible for the new tier reward system. 

Previous referrals will increase your tier but rewards will not be retroactively paid.

Rules for Referrers 

  • Everyone is eligible to refer a business to Sekure. 
  • You need to use the appropriate Sekure refer-a-friend program form by submitting your valid email address, name, phone number, and your friend’s valid email address, name, phone number, and company name. Or, a Sekure representative may submit an internal refer-a-friend form on your behalf. 
  • You must accept the program’s terms and conditions. 
  • You cannot refer your own business. 
  • You may refer multiple Referees. 

Rules for Referees 

  • To be eligible to receive the incentive as a Referee, you must be qualified and approved by Sekure, have a signed merchant service agreement, and must batch for a period of 30 days. Your batching amount must be greater than or equal to $300. 
  • You will not be eligible to receive the incentive if you activated your account with Sekure prior to having been referred. 
  • If you have become an active Sekure customer, you can join the program and refer other businesses. Or, a Sekure representative may invite you to participate in the program as a Referrer.

Frequently asked questions 

What is the Sekure refer-a-friend program? 

When you refer-a-friend to Sekure, and both you (“referrer”) and your friend (“referee”) meet all eligibility requirements, you’ll both receive a digital Visa® prepaid card*. 

Who qualifies for Sekure’s refer-a-friend program? 

As the person making the referral (“referrer”): everyone is eligible to refer a business to Sekure. 

As the person being referred (“referee”): you must become a Sekure customer by activating a new account and batching for a period of 30 days with a minimum of $300. 

When is the referral process completed? 

The process is complete after a referred friend (“referee”) signs their merchant service agreement with Sekure and batches for 30 days with a minimum of $300 or more. This will complete the referral process for both Referee and Referrer. 

How long will it take to receive my reward? 

Once the referee’s account is verified and activated, and the referral process is completed (batching for 30 or more days with a total of $300 or more), the reward will be delivered to your provided email, via a coupon code. Depending on when the referral process is completed, both the Referrer and the Referee should receive the reward within 4 to 6 weeks. 

How many rewards can I get? 

While the refer-a-friend program is running, you can earn an unlimited amount of rewards per calendar year depending on the number of eligible referees you refer to Sekure. 

What happens if I cancel my Sekure service? 

As a Referrer, if you cancel your Sekure service before the referral process has been completed, you are still eligible to earn refer-a-friend program rewards and refer new merchants. 

As a Referee, if you cancel your Sekure service before the referral process has been completed, your right to earn refer-a-friend program rewards will be forfeited. 

Do referrals expire? 

If the business you refer declines to enroll with Sekure at the time of your referral, your eligibility for the reward will be voided. Subsequently, if another individual refers the same business later and they proceed to sign up with Sekure, that individual will then qualify for the reward.

How do I check the status of a referral? 

Those who’ve referred a friend can check the status of all their referrals by speaking to our customer support team. 

Will I get a reward if I become a Sekure customer right before someone refers my business? 

No. To be eligible for a reward, you need to be referred before you become a Sekure customer.
